Cameron Ellis’s law practice focuses on criminal law, protection from abuse cases, and personal injury. Cameron is a zealous advocate for his clients and strives for just outcomes through every step of the legal process. Cameron is litigation focused and has tried cases before judges and juries.

Cameron is a lifelong Mainer. He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Maine Orono, cum laude. Before law school Cameron studied history and political science at UMaine, all while working as a restaurant waiter to pay his way. He has been practicing law in Maine since passing the bar exam in 2014. When Cameron is not advocating for his clients he enjoys fly fishing, basketball, and exploring Maine with his wife, two sons & dog.

Attorney Ellis earned his Juris Doctor law degree, cum laude, from the University of Maine School of Law in May 2014. During law school Cameron worked at the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic handling cases ranging from protection from abuse to parental rights and family matters. Also during law school, Cameron was a Student District Attorney at the Cumberland County District Attorney’s office. At the DA’s office, Cameron handled hundreds of criminal cases and developed an in depth understanding of criminal law.

Cameron believes that to best advocate for clients, lawyers need to be up to date with new laws, technology, and trial/evidence techniques. Cameron takes a number of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses each year in order to stay at the top of his career. Cameron recently engaged in CLE training on the use of social media as evidence in order to ensure he could use texts, voicemails, and social media posts to back up clients in court.

Cameron gets a great deal of value in helping his clients during a stressful part of their lives. He appreciates client’s unique circumstances and works with those circumstances to develop the most persuasive strategy in each case. Cameron is also competitive by nature, which motivates him to work very hard to win cases, and earn victories by achieving client’s goals. He prides himself on being available for clients and responding to client concerns immediately. He knows the legal world can be a stressful place and he goes out of his way to explain things thoroughly and promptly, to ease the stress of the process as much as possible.
